This show from Workers World Media Productions looked at the development and impact of corporate power in Southern Africa and its impact on workers and communities in the region. While many governments have gone out of their way to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and opened up their countries for “free trade” with several incentives for this, it has created enormous power and influence for major companies.
Recently the regional leg of the Global Campaign to Dismantle Corporate Power was launched at the first Southern Africa Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal on Transnational Corporations, which took place in Manzini in Swaziland.
